Toni Lavergne Blanchard 1973 - 2024
Our thoughts and prayers are with our partners at Acadian Ambulance & Air Med Services at the untimely death of Toni Lavergne Blanchard, the esteemed Chief Flight Nurse and Education Supervisor of the Air Med program.

Toni’s significant contributions to the profession of emergency medical services and her steadfast commitment to her role have had a lasting influence on her coworkers, the community, and the numerous lives she impacted.

Toni Blanchard’s journey with Acadian began in 1992 when she was hired as an EMT. Her career was marked by a commitment to excellence and a passion for patient care. She transitioned to Acadian Air Med in 2016, where she served as a certified flight registered nurse and flight paramedic before taking on the role of Chief Flight Nurse and Education Supervisor.

In this capacity, Toni was responsible for overseeing critical aspects of flight nurse and paramedic education, including CAMTS education and credentialing requirements, RN clinical practice clearance, and the management of Air Med’s blood program. Air Med Program Director Marc Creswell reflected on Toni’s impact: “Toni was the heart and the den mother of Air Med. She was always there for her staff to discuss problems or concerns while also helping each staff member keep themselves held to the highest expectations of performance.”

Her biggest impact to Air Med was taking orientation and training to its highest level, and the benefactors were the patients served, the community, the flight crews, and Air Med as a whole. Some people go through life wondering if they made a difference, but not Toni: she made the biggest difference.

Toni's contributions and spirit will be remembered with great fondness and respect. She leaves behind a legacy of dedication and care that will continue to resonate within the communities across Louisiana and beyond and in the hearts of all who knew her.

Toni’s memory will continue to be cherished by all who knew her. Her legacy will live on, and her impact on the lives of those around her will never be forgotten.

May she rest in peace.
