TRUCK BLESSING & DEDICATION

On March 19th, 1989, Choctaw Volunteer Fire Department experienced the great accomplishment of receiving its first new fire apparatus (pumper) that the department was able to purchase.

Today, many years later, we gathered with our friends and families to once again celebrate this type of milestone. The second new fire truck to be purchased has officially arrived and received a blessing.

With the hard work from many, this great dream has become reality. Many thanks to the Lafourche Parish Fire Protection District 8-B, State Representative Fontenot, Chief Ward of Sunbelt Fire, and most importantly the community of Choctaw!

While the truck won't be officially placed in service for a few more weeks while the finishing touches get completed. It was great to gather and celebrate the arrival, blessing, and dedication of only the second new pumper to be purchased since the departments incorporation in 1983.
