The Choctaw Volunteer Department has always been an organization that strives for firefighting excellence and community service. More important is the fact that with quality people and innovative thinking, we are poised for an exciting future.
We feel it is important to give each applicant a realistic description of the role of a volunteer firefighter and the tasks associated with that role, so that applicants can decide for himself or herself if the role of a volunteer firefighter is truly one in which there is interest and ability to do well. As a volunteer firefighter, you will be required to perform a large variety of tasks. These tasks are very diverse and may include:
