A HURRICANE WARNING AND STORM SURGE WARNING ARE IN EFFECT
A PARISH-WIDE CURFEW is in effect from 7:00 PM until 6:00 AM.

On Monday, Governor John Bel Edwards issued a STATE OF EMERGENCY in advance of Hurricane Zeta, which could impact Louisiana later in the week, though the final track is still uncertain.

EVACUATION ORDERS
A Mandatory Evacuation is in effect for south of the Leon Theriot Floodgate in Golden Meadow and other low-lying areas, including Port Fourchon.
A Voluntary Evacuation is in effect for south of U.S. Highway 90 and anyone who feels unsafe in their dwelling.

SHELTER
The Raceland Recreation Center (241 Recreation Drive) will open as a shelter at 10:00 AM today.
CLOSURES
Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office administrative offices will be closed on Wednesday, October 28.
Lafourche Parish public and private schools, Virtual Academy of Lafourche, MAX Charter School, and L.E. Fletcher Technical Community College will be closed and have virtual learning on Wednesday, October 28.
All Nicholls State University classes will be virtual on Wednesday and Thursday.
The 17th Judicial District Court, Lafourche Parish District Attorney’s Office and the Lafourche Parish Clerk of Court’s Office will be closed on Wednesday, October 28. If you were scheduled to appear for court on this date, you are no longer required to. A new court date with be issued.

SANDBAG LOCATIONS
Sandbag locations will open at noon on Tuesday, October 27.
All locations will be self-fill (bring your own shovel).

TRAVEL & ROAD INFO
Many streets will be impassable due to downed power lines, trees, and power poles. Per the curfew, people are asked to stay off the roadways until 6:00 AM on Thursday.
All pontoon bridges will be closed to vehicular traffic. All lift bridges will be closed to marine traffic, but remain open to vehicular traffic.
