More than thirty public safety agencies from Lafourche and Terrebonne parishes will be on hand at the Bayou Region Public Safety Expo on October 19th.
The free annual event, now in its ninth year, provides information and demonstrations for visitors of all ages. Agencies including law enforcement, fire, medical and emergency preparedness will display vehicles like helicopters, tactical equipment, ambulances and fire trucks.
The Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office will showcase vehicles, tools and technology used by deputies on a daily basis such as the mobile command vehicle, water patrol boat, and motorcycle. Authorities will also be on hand to provide child IDs, fingerprinting and DNA swabs.
There will also be police dog demonstrations, child seat inspections and food and drinks available to the public.
The Expo will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Thibodaux civic center at 310 N. Canal Blvd.
