A RECAP OF 2021

12/31/2021

To our community:

The year 2021 brought forth many unforeseen challenges to our organization, many of which would have had a crippling effect on our operations had it not been for the dedication of our members and the unwavering support of our community and the surrounding areas. In the end, we were able to provide the same level of quality services our community has come to expect.

2021 was certainly filled with many challenges; COVID continued to sicken those in our community, and Hurricane Ida came along and left behind quite a bit of devastation.

Nevertheless, when we found ourselves looking for ways to help our community recover, our members, community partners, and our supporters stepped up to the challenge.

Our members, community partners, and our supporters do not get enough recognition for their hard work and dedication, so THANKS TO ALL OF YOU who helped us fulfill our mission.

Thank you:

  • to our dedicated board members who continually focus on the well-being of the organization; to our dedicated assistant chief and officers who spend countless hours maintaining equipment, responding to calls, and leading members to success.
  • to our members for their remarkable dedication in responding to calls, receiving continuing education, and their overall support of the organization.
  • to our community partners and supporters, who when called upon, are always ready and willing to support our endeavors.
  • to the Lafourche Parish Fire Protection 8-B board for their unwavering support of the well-being of the organization.
  • to all our other supporters, including our elected officials, the communities we serve, and the surrounding departments and dispatchers.

While it is impossible to specifically thank every individual for their support, please know that we are certainly grateful for each and everyone of you and for your continued support of the Choctaw Volunteer Fire Department.

We will continue to strive for success and work hard to make 2022 an outstanding year of achievements and service.

For you. For us. Together.

Cody Rink
Fire Chief
