UPDATE: Just before noon Wednesday, officials identified the mother of the children as the suspect. She was located in Florida, where officials began a search for the stolen car and the children. The children were located, but the mother fled on foot and is still wanted. The children have been placed in protective custody. The Louisiana State Police has issued a Level II Child Endangerment Alert on behalf of the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office. They are requesting assistance in locating two juvenile males, Kaesyn Heck, an 8-year-old white male, and Jax Matthews, a 4-year-old white male. Kaesyn is approximately 5 feet tall and weighs approximately 60 pounds. Jax is approximately 3 1⁄2 feet tall and 45 pounds. Both Kaesyn and Jax are blonde headed and have ‘crew cut’ style haircuts. Both children are missing and were last seen from their father’s home at 41598 River Road in Ponchatoula, Louisiana. Jax Matthews was last seen wearing a camo jacket and black rubber boots. Kaesyn was last seen wearing a black jacket and blue long sleeve shirt, jeans and black rubber boots. The children may be riding in a 2013 Hyundai Elantra, Burgundy or Red in color with a busted sunroof. The direction of travel is unknown. Louisiana State Police had issued an Amber Alert for the 10-year-old after they said she was last seen getting into a car Sunday afternoon with a man in New Iberia.
A 10-year-old girl from New Iberia has reportedly been abducted by a 33-year-old man, and Louisiana State Police have issued an Amber Alert in a plea for the public's help. -- The alert was issued at 11:25 p.m. Sunday. According to LSP, the suspected abductor is 33-year-old Michael R. Sereal of New Iberia. He's described as a black man, standing 5-feet, 9-inches tall and weighing 224 pounds. He was last seen driving a 2012 Nissan Altima with license plate N472845. The 10-year-girl is identified as Jalisa Lassalle, who was last seen in the 1400 block of Fulton Street in New Iberia and getting into Sereal's vehicle, LSP said. Lassalle is described as standing 4-1/2-feet tall and weighing 75 pounds. She was wearing a red hoodie and blue-jean shorts. Slayton was last seen on Wednesday evening, April 15, 2020, riding his bicycle along Louisiana Highway 1 in the Mathews area. Following an altercation with a family member, he dismounted the bicycle and ran away from the area. Family members have not heard from him since. He is described as 5’10” tall, weighing approximately 130 pounds with blonde hair. He was last seen wearing red pants, a black shirt, white socks with marijuana leaves on them, and gray Jordan brand slide sandals.
