Governor issues statewide PUBLIC HEALTH EMERGENCY declaration.
HOW TO PROTECT YOURSELF: COVID-19 most commonly spreads from an infected person through the air by coughing and sneezing, close personal contact, and touching an object/surface with the virus on it then touching your mouth/nose/eyes before washing your hands. To protect yourself, wash your hands often (for 20 seconds) with soap and water, and avoid touching your mouth/nose/eyes with unwashed hands. You’re also encouraged to clean and disinfect frequently-touched surfaces daily. Click HERE for more detailed guidance from the CDC on steps to prevent illness. WHAT TO DO IF YOU ARE SICK: COVID-19 symptoms include fever, cough, and shortness of breath. If you are exhibiting these symptoms or believe you may have come into contact with an infected person, CALL YOUR DOCTOR for instructions. If you have a medical emergency, call 911 and let them know you may have COVID-19. Click HERE for guidance from the CDC on what to do when you are sick.
